Client Quotes:

it was a pleasure to finally meet you and I really appreciate you taking the time during a busy holiday season to guide me through the process of creating a pattern block and fitting trousers.   I look forward to making a pair of well-fitted and flattering trousers for myself.  The information I gained during my time with you will be helpful in teaching my own class next year. It was also very interesting to hear about your background and the progression of your own career. Thanks again

October 2013 Mailing

Hello it’s been a while,
I hope all is well and here are a few months of lovely clients and the outfits we created  together.
Please read their generous quotes.  Thanks given to tailoring
which has been reaching out to school (talking at my son’s and daughters  Primary ) and high society ( Mossimans Nth Degree Club lunch courtesy of Robert Walton MBE).   Lifting the spirits to bring
joy!    Also I a have quote for you dear reader- below.........
I have just three things to teach:  Simplicity, Patience and Compassion.
These three things are your greatest treasures. Lao Tzu

Gemma Owen: Imtaz’s easy going and friendly nature made the process very enjoyable. Her experience and knowledge of the industry was clearly evident, providing me with options and guidance every step of the way. The resulting dress is beyond expectations, I can’t wait to show it off!

Annie: Working with Imtaz was a real delight. Her exquisite taste, talent, depth of knowledge, attention to detail made the whole experience outstanding. She grasped so quickly my style and helped enormously to refine my ideas. The two masterpieces that she created for me, two lovely dresses, are a pleasure to wear each time.
Carole Stone:  An outfit from Imtaz always looks original and stylish: she just needs to know what you want from the fabric, then goes to work to provide it. She is magic with fabric.

Angizeh: I really enjoined the two sewing session I have been having with you so far, I am looking forward having more sewing session with you hopefully after holidays in September, you are an amazing lady who has lovely personality, I'd like to thank you for the sewing skills that I have learnt from you, I love the skirt and the top that you have helped me to make.

Thank you for reading this mailing and
for you as a bonus for reaching the end of the email a poem.

KindnessBefore you know what kindness really is
you must lose things,
feel the future dissolve in a moment
like salt in a weakened broth.
What you held in your hand,
what you counted and carefully saved,
all this must go so you know
how desolate the landscape can be
between the regions of kindness.
How you ride and ride
thinking the bus will never stop,
the passengers eating maize and chicken
will stare out the window forever.

Before you learn the tender gravity of kindness,
you must travel where the Indian in a white poncho
lies dead by the side of the road.
You must see how this could be you,
how he too was someone
who journeyed through the night with plans
and the simple breath that kept him alive.

Before you know kindness as the deepest thing inside,
you must know sorrow as the other deepest thing.
You must wake up with sorrow.
You must speak to it till your voice
catches the thread of all sorrows
and you see the size of the cloth.

Then it is only kindness that makes sense anymore,
only kindness that ties your shoes
and sends you out into the day to mail letters and
     purchase bread,
only kindness that raises its head
from the crowd of the world to say
it is I you have been looking for,
and then goes with you every where
like a shadow or a friend.
